Artworks maybe, graphics no. Japanese games are really more into storyline than the gameplay, and good graphics meant fancy artworks for them.

Yeah I admit the Final Fantasy trailers' graphics are pretty sick. But remember they're ONLY CG trailers! They're artificially enhanced. In game you'll never see graphics as good as those ones.

I insist on the fact that games using Unreal 3 Engine are the best eye-candies, at least for now.

For those whom don't like Crysis, here's Nurien, a Korean MMORPG using the Unreal 3 Engine. Just check out those graphics.

P.S.: I didn't say that I' like the game, and probably never will. But the technologies behind it is quite fascinating.

I hacked Crisis Core onto my PSP, the game is quite as lame as all the FF, but the story and 3d graphics are amazing. I finally understand how advent children happened.
